Solo

Solo is a 16 year old sorrel Thoroughbred gelding.  He has a wonderful floating gait and is a real stunner to watch in the exercise arena.  He has a fantastic calm demeanor with all people.  He does present as a cribber and we are working with him to alleviate this.

Shrimp

Shrimp is a 16 year old sorrel Arab gelding.  Shrimp wasn’t gelded until later in his life, which lead to a few scraps and fights. He is missing part of his ear and has a lip scar--all adding to his distinctive character.  Now he is a very calm gentleman.  In fact, he shares his pasture with two older gents and he gets along perfectly.

Kizz

Kizz is about 31 years old.  He is a White Arab gelding.  His story is really quite sad.  Our best guess is he was an old barrel horse, worked till he was broken.  Which means now, he cannot be exercised too strenuously.  To add a bit more insult, Kizz has a mild case of EPM. And if that wasn’t bad enough, he somehow ended up in a dire hoarding situation.  Now, all of that is in Kizz’s past. With us, he has found a peaceful retirement and given a chance to live out his senior years comfortably.

Dusty

Dusty is over 30 years old.  He is a gorgeous Palomino gelding, just as gentle as can be.  He has some arthritis and is a bit anemic.  But you can still see him racing gracefully around the arena any chance he gets.  Living his senior years, being loved and cared for, is a real dream come true for this love.

Commodore

Commodore is a 38 year old grey Arab gelding.  His papers say he died 5 years ago.  We think he looks darn good for having been dead that long!

He is blind in one eye and like many of us older folks, has some arthritis.  But he can still run and loves to spend time in the arena with his pasture mates.  Commodore is kind to every one and loves to be brushed most of all.

If you are interested in learning more about our sanctuary or if you would like to come visit, please contact us either by phone (310) 473-5585 or email us.  The dogs, horses and cat love visitors and we are always looking for volunteers to help out.

Hank

Hank is a world class, superstar donkey!  This 20 (ish) little guy is a total love bug.  Kinda like a big puppy in a donkey’s body. He loves to give kisses and he follows us around like a well trained dog.

Quite a few months ago, Hank was rescued with two horses. All three suffered tremendously. Unfortunately, the two horses didn’t survive.  For months, Hank was kept at animal control, recovering from his previous injuries and waiting for the court case to be completed.  When we finally got to bring him here, were were overjoyed. In so many ways, Hank is our miracle boy!  He survived horrible abuse, patiently waiting to be rescued and emerged a loving, gentle boy.

Today, Hank spends his days wooing his new girlfriend, Charlene, playing in his enclosure, and exercising with his new friends.  He is one happy, loved little guy.

Firecracker

Firecracker is a beautiful one year old Bay Thoroughbred gelding.  His height is already 16 hands and he still growing!  Firecracker loves the attention he receives at St. Bonnie's.  For the first time in his life, Firecracker is being cared for properly. He loves to run, go on walks, and he has quite a knack at getting the folks here to dote on him! And he is soaking it all up. He practically melts when he gets his neck and chin rubbed!  But life hasn't always been so easy for this big guy.  His life started out so very very tragic.

Momma & Tanner

Momma, a Palimino pony and her 8 day old colt Tanner were rescued from a horrible situation.  Momma was so stressed that she wasn’t producing enough milk to feed her little boy.  Animal control stepped in, contact us and we are now providing love, food, bottles and care for these two precious angels.

Tanner is growing fast, and momma is starting to heal nicely.  We believe Momma is about 15 years old.  For the time being, we are taking it slow with these two.  We want to make sure they are calm, comfortable, secure, stress free and healthy before we introduce them to the rest of the world.  But soon, they will be meeting and greeting folks like all our beauties.  If you are interested in meeting these two, please let us know and we will let you know when they are inviting guests over for hay and milk!
